Nathan Lygon

Mother Of Eternity - Didgeridoo

In late 2017 a few Shedders visited the 'Grow The Music' workshop at Jigamy Farm, an Aboriginal meeting place just down the road from The PBGB Shed. Grow the Music is an Australia wide youth oriented program which aims to improve the health and well-being of Indigenous communities  through workshops focussed on music and the performing arts. The week long program ended with a concert by the students.

We were curious, then delighted. The concert was great.  And we met a young man there named Nathan Lygon. Nathan was leading a bunch of younguns through a traditional smoke ceremony and dance. Nathan, we have come to learn, is a Pambula born and bred Yuin man. Born at Pambula Hospital, went to Pambula Primary and finished year 12 at Eden High. He's a local ! Not only a dancer, Nathan is a didgeridoo player. So, natch................we invited Nathan to join us in The Shed.

Sure enough, not  long after the Grow The Music workshop Nathan popped into The Shed with his didge. None of us really had experience playing didge compatible music, but we worked up a song called Mother Of Eternity which you can listen to if you search for the title in The PBGB Vault.  It was great fun figuring out how to play didge sympatico music, and Nathan is a very friendly guy with a heart of gold. So, Nathan, welcome to the PBGB Family !

Here's looking forward to playing more music with you sir !
