Frankie J Holden

Sea Eagle Rock - Vocal, handclaps, etc

Frankie J. Holden ( OAM no less ) has been there and done that, including moving to live ( in his semi-retirement ) right here on the beautiful Sapphire Coast.

Frank is a singer, an actor,  and a TV presenter.  In the 1970s, he fronted Ol' 55, a retro rock band which had a big hit with "On the Prowl".  In the early 2000s, Frank re-emerged on the music scene with the 'Ol' Skydaddies', a band featuring members from Ol' 55, Daddy Cool and Skyhooks.

In the meantime, at the 1990 AFI awards, Frank was nominated for Best Actor for his lead role in the movie 'Return Home'.

Frank had honed his acting chops on TV series including Prisoner, A Country Practice, Police Rescue, Blue Heelers, and Underbelly.

He also appeared in feature films including The Big Steal, The Flying Doctors, and Clubland.
From 1996 until 1998, Frank was the host of the hugely popular Monday evening variety show In Melbourne Tonight.

In 2009, Frank co-presented, alongside his wife Michelle, Discover Downunder,  a half-hour Australia-based travelling/caravanning program. In 2010 he co-hosted a similar series called  What's up Down Under?

All of which is all very well, but Frank is best known around here as a great bloke who time after time finds time to help out with a good cause, not least by raising squillions for our fabulous Sapphire Aquatic Centre.

And now ( 2018 ) Frank is at it again, lurking with a bunch of buddies in the PBGB Shed to record a somewhat revamped version of the old Daddy Cool song 'Eagle Rock'. All part of Frank's many roles in raising money for the Tathra Bushfire Relief Appeal. He called it The Sea Eagle Rock, after the Tathra Sea Eagles footy club, and you can have a listen by clicking HERE.

Welcome to the PBGB Family Frank !
